Michael McKenzie serves as Partner & Chief Strategy Officer at Grain Management, LLC. Prior to joining Grain, Michael held senior positions at the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC), including Deputy Chief of the FCC’s Wireless Bureau. In this role, he helped implement the first U.S. National Broadband Plan. Prior to the FCC, Michael held executive positions in the technology industry. He served as a General Manager at Microsoft Corp., where he supported the company’s worldwide enterprise cloud computing services. Prior to that, he served as Senior Director of Business Development & Strategy in the company’s platforms and services division. Michael also practiced law in the technology transactions group at the Silicon Valley law firm of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, and in the communications group at the Washington D.C. law firm of WilmerHale. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Virginia and received his J.D. from Harvard Law School.
