Towers Deal of the Year

2024

Grain Management was proud to go home with the “Towers Deal of the Year” award alongside our portfolio company partner, Phoenix Tower International (PTI), and our strategic partner, BlackRock. The TMT M&A Awards USA recognizes leading technology, media, and telecom (TMT) M&A advisors, investors, and dealmakers in the USA.

Recipients are shortlisted, and ultimately chosen, by a panel of judges comprised of experienced and respected digital infrastructure leaders and advisors within the space. Grain Management received this award on September 26, 2024. To be considered for the companies category for the TMT M&A Awards USA 2024, one had to be nominated by either themselves or their peers. Nominations for the awards opened in May 2024 and entries were assessed by a combination of deal data and case study information submitted with the final decision made by the Judges Panel. Judges considered volume and value of deals undertaken, as well as complexity, individual achievement, innovative strategic work and/or standout leadership. Grain Management did not provide any compensation in connection with winning this award outside of purchasing tickets to attend the event and the firm’s subscription to TMT Finance.

Preqin

Top Performing Infrastructure Core + Core plus Manager

2023

Preqin named Grain Management the Top Performing Infrastructure Core & Core Plus Fund Manager in the Americas for 2023. Winners were announced by Preqin on June 29, 2023, and we are pleased to be celebrated alongside the other award recipients by what Preqin describes as their ‘most competitive annual honor given to top industry performers across private capital and hedge funds’.

To be eligible for this award, managers needed a visible ‘Preqin Pro’ profile, an active profile status, raised funds in the relevant strategy over the last 7 years, a minimum of 3 funds with quartile ranking for the relevant strategy and a Fund Auditor tagged. Each manager is ranked by the number of funds and their quartile ranking and then select information is reviewed directly with the fund manager before a decision is made. Grain Management did not provide compensation in connection with winning this award outside of its broader subscription to Preqin.

Best Performance Over $500 million: Real Assets category

2022

Grain Management was honored to be recognized by Private Equity Wire in the Best Performance Over $500 million: Real Assets category. The recognition came from managers, investors and service providers for funds raised during five vintages from 2017 to 2021.

Awarded to Grain Management on October 26, 2022. Nominations for all categories were based on annualized performance over a 12-month period from May 31, 2021 to May 31, 2022. Nominations in various award categories were further split by size and strategy as specified in the award name. For the performance categories, five vintages of funds were analyzed – 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021. All GPs that had more than one fund ranked among the top performers across those five vintages were shortlisted for that category.

Voting for the awards was conducted via an online poll of the entire Private Equity Wire userbase, where participants are asked to make their choice among the shortlisted firms in each category. Grain Management did not provide compensation in connection with winning this award.

PE Innovators in ESG

2021

Building on a long history of recognizing the best in private equity, Mergers & Acquisitions recognized 18 entities that are leading the way in their inaugural 2021 PE Innovators in ESG. To borrow language from the ILPA ESG Assessment Framework, this list named firms that are “Advanced” when it comes to ESG integration.

To determine the winners, Mergers & Acquisitions asked nominated firms to provide written answers to six questions and the firms’ answers formed the basis of their coverage. Grain Management did not provide compensation in connection with winning this award.

NAIC

Private Equity Deal of the Year

2017

National Association of Investment Companies (NAIC) is the industry association for, and largest network of, diverse-owned private equity firms and hedge funds. To showcase the success of an investment firm better, they highlight a ‘home run’ private equity deal from that year. One that generated a minimum return of 4x gross MOIC to their LPs. Grain Management was a ‘Private Equity Deal of the Year’ award recipient in 2017, showcasing the nine spectrum licenses acquired from reginal wireless service provider Cincinnati Bell Wireless.

Grain Management did not provide compensation in connection with this award outside of our existing NAIC membership.
