Grain Management-Backed Alares Concludes Acquisition of Azza Telecom
With 320,000 subscribers, the state of São Paulo consolidates as the largest market for the operator.
São Paulo, S.P. (October 2, 2024)
Alares, a telecommunications operator headquartered in São Paulo that offers fiber optic internet services, pay TV, streaming, and fixed telephony, announces that it has completed the acquisition of Azza Telecom.
With the acquisition, Alares expands its presence in the state of São Paulo, reaching cities such as Sorocaba, Iguape, Ibiúna, Ilha Comprida, Registro, Itupeva, Monte Mor, Taboão da Serra, among others. The company has become the 4th largest ISP (internet service provider) in the state with more than 320,000 subscribers in São Paulo’s cities.
Alares CEO, Denis Ferreira, points out that the integration process of the two companies will be conducted in an agile but careful manner, focusing on the customer, respect for employees, and the business profitability perspective. “We are ready to immediately start the integration work on all fronts: human resources, systems, methodologies, portfolio and, finally, the brand. A year ago, we acquired Webby Internet, also in the interior of São Paulo, and we completed the integration process quickly, efficiently, and with value generation for the combined operations. We will use the same approach with Azza,” he says.
The deal’s conclusion represents an important step in Alares’ growth strategy, reinforcing its position as a protagonist in the consolidation of the Brazilian Broadband market and demonstrating its ability to acquire and integrate relevant targets quickly and efficiently. Azza is part of the dozens of acquisitions the company has made, and all previous purchases have already been fully integrated, so that Alares operates with unified systems, processes, and organization, within a national strategy. The focus is to ensure greater operational efficiency and an increasingly positive customer experience with Alares.
“With the conclusion, we added another 136,000 subscribers and approximately 630 employees to our team, and by uniting our structures, subscribers will benefit from a wider, more robust network with high-quality standards for products and services. We will quickly expand Alares’ product and SVA portfolio to Azza’s subscribers. We also want to accelerate Alares Empresas, in the B2B segment of the region,” reinforces Denis.
With the acquisition, the operator will serve more than 775,000 subscribers, in 228 cities across 7 states, being the leader in 40% of the cities it operates in, and the vice-leader in another 24%. In addition, the company will have 126 of its stores, which ensure proximity and convenience in serving its customers.
